Coorg, or Kodagu, as it's officially known, is usually sold in postcard language: rolling coffee estates, cardamom-scented air, mist that never lifts off the hills, and the nickname "Scotland of India." All of that is true. But step past the plantation gate and Coorg reveals something the postcards leave out. Its coffee is grown not in cleared fields but under the canopy of native rainforest trees, deliberately left standing for shade by generations of Kodava planters. That one agricultural choice has quietly preserved one of the richest micro-habitats in the Western Ghats, a forest hiding inside a farm, in a landscape most visitors assume is just scenery. Beneath that familiar landscape is a remarkably intricate world of rainforest life.
Native forest trees growing alongside coffee plantations, shaded streams, dense leaf litter and humid forest edges create countless microhabitats for amphibians, reptiles, insects, spiders and fungi. During the monsoon, this hidden world becomes especially active, making Coorg an extraordinary destination for anyone willing to look beyond the landscape and photograph nature at a much smaller scale.

How to reach by Air
Madikeri is not well connected to other major cities of the country via regular flights. The nearest airport is in Mysore at a distance of 99 kms.

There are no regular trains to Madikeri from other major cities in the country. The nearest Railway station is at Sakleshpur which is located at a distance of 58 kms.

There are direct buses from Bangalore to Virajpet. From Virajpet you could take a private bus to Kabbinakad. From Kabbinakad we will arrange a 4-wheel drive Jeep to pick you up.

Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival at Coorg in the daytime. Check in to the hotel. After lunch a short introduction session & briefing by Pratik. After that evening field session in search of the amazing macrofauna of Coorg. On-field practical photography guidance ...
DAY 2
Daytime nature trails in the nearby area. A photography indoor session by Pratik about different Macro/Creative Photography techniques. Evening nature trails till late night
DAY 3
Wake up early, breakfast followed by nature trails in the different locations of Coorgs. In the afternoon, back to the hotel for lunch or packed lunch on the field according to the distance we are traveling for a particular species of reptiles & amphibians.
Day 4
Morning breakfast is followed by a review session of the photographs taken during the course of 3 days. Check-out from the hotel. Tour ends.
